About me and my stance.
Fewer things. Better decisions.
I'll explain here why I make these exact choices.
I'm Julia, a mother of two and a fashion designer.
Conscious consumption was never a trend for me, but rather a matter of course – long before I had children.
Something changed when I became pregnant. Suddenly, there was an underlying message in conversations that you always had to buy more, always be better equipped. As if love could be measured in possessions. That bothered me. Not everything can be solved with equipment. And not every product makes your everyday life better.
That's why I curate differently at OrangeCherie.
As a fashion designer with many years of experience in creative purchasing, I know materials, their origin and their craftsmanship value.
I don't just see the price, but the journey to get there. I know how fabrics change, how they age, how they should feel. Furthermore, I have a trained eye – for quality, for workmanship, and for trends that last, rather than just making a loud entrance.
As a mom, I ask myself about every product: Is it truly necessary?
And does it answer these questions in an aesthetically pleasing, thoughtful way?
A single use is rarely enough for me. I'm interested in things that grow with the child, can be combined, and thus gain added value. A rattle that later becomes part of the play kitchen. Clothing that works through layering – high-quality merino wool pieces, warm teddy fleece, a robust, windproof anorak that's just as suitable for a summer evening as it is for an autumn breeze. Instead of high-performance products for situations that hardly ever occur in everyday life.
I deliberately don't select everything.
No products that limit imagination instead of opening it up.
No things that reinforce stereotypes or force children into roles.
And nothing that takes up space without actually being used.
OrangeCherie is my personal selection of favorite items for children and parents. Things I would choose for my own family. Carefully selected, with experience, attitude, and the desire for them to be cherished.
Because what children really need is love, time, and attention from their family.
There are things that make these moments of growing together sustainable, beautiful and effortless, once you discover them.
With a constantly changing selection of unique products, primarily from women-led labels, I want to create space for exactly that: everyday life, adventure, security, repairing, passing on and remembering.
Tiny and big things that remain – in memory and to be passed on. Like a hug. Like wearable and tangible security.
I personally and carefully select the brands and suppliers I work with based on clear values:
🍊Quality and durability🍊Thoughtful and clear designs🍊Social responsibility🍊Organic/low-pollutant/recycled materials
