About me and my stance.
Fewer things. Better choices.
I'll tell you here why I choose exactly that way.
I'm Julia, a mother of two and a fashion designer.
Conscious consumption was never a trend for me, but a given – long before I had children.
With pregnancy, something changed. In conversations, there was suddenly the underlying sentiment that you always had to buy more, always be better equipped. As if love could be measured by things. That bothered me. Not everything can be solved with equipment. And not every product makes your everyday life better.
That's why I curate differently at OrangeCherie.
As a fashion designer with many years of experience in creative purchasing, I know materials, their origin, and their artisanal value.
I don't just see the price, but the journey to it. I know how fabrics change, how they age, how they should feel. I also have a trained eye – for quality, for craftsmanship, and for trends that last, rather than making a loud entrance.
As a mom, I ask myself with every product: Is it a real necessity?
And does it answer that need in an aesthetic, thoughtful way?
A single benefit is rarely enough for me. I'm interested in things that grow with you, can be combined, and thus gain added value. A rattle that later becomes part of the play kitchen. Clothing that works through layering – high-quality merino pieces, warming teddy fleece, a robust, windproof anorak that fits just as well on a summer evening as in an autumn wind. Instead of high-performance products for situations that rarely occur in everyday life.
I deliberately don't choose everything.
No products that limit imagination instead of opening it.
No things that reinforce stereotypes or push children into roles.
And nothing that takes up space without truly being played with.
OrangeCherie is my personal selection of favorite pieces for children and parents. Things I would choose for my own family. Carefully selected, with experience, attitude, and the wish that they may stay.
Because what children really need is love, time, and attention from their family.
There are things that make these moments of growing together sustainable, beautiful, and effortless, once you discover them.
With a constantly changing selection of unique products, predominantly from women-led labels, I want to create space for exactly that: for everyday life, adventure, security, repairing, passing on, and remembering.
Tiny and big things that last – in memory and to be passed on. Like a hug. Like wearable and tangible security.
OrangeCherie is a curated European Kids Concept Store for sustainable children's aesthetics and timeless family living.
I personally and carefully select the brands and suppliers I work with according to clear values:
