The Mismou Frill Jacket by Konges Sløjd is a functional winter jacket that combines technical weather protection features with a special, magical design. The swan print with cream-colored swans on a blue background is complemented by a slightly gathered, ruffled section at hip height, turning a classic outdoor jacket into a garment with a story to tell.

For snow, rain, and everything in between

The Mismou is made for being outdoors. The waterproof material with a water column of 10,000 mm, taped seams, and BIONIC-FINISH® ECO impregnation reliably keep rain and snow at bay. At the same time, the jacket is equipped with a breathability of 8,000 g/m²/24 h, allowing excess heat to escape when playing, running, and romping around.

Inside, the THERMOLITE® EcoMade insulation provides warmth. The technical fiber offers good insulation without making the jacket excessively heavy or bulky. For children who move a lot outdoors, this is a pleasant difference: warmly wrapped without feeling like they're in a small winter suit of armor.

High-performance for little outdoor people

The Mismou boasts a lot of functionality in its details. The hood is detachable, the waist can be adjusted, and inside, a snow skirt ensures that as little snow as possible gets under the jacket when skiing, sledding, and playing around.

The sleeves close with elastic storm cuffs. Also particularly practical are the small glove hooks at the sleeve ends, where gloves can be attached when not being worn.

And for those brief moments when the jacket needs to come off, there are internal suspenders: just pull out the sleeves and let it hang over the shoulders, keeping your hands free.

A bit more than an outdoor jacket

What I particularly like about the Mismou is the combination of true function and an independent design. The Swan pattern is graphic enough not to look cute, yet the swans and the slightly gathered section add a playful touch.

It can be easily combined with a rather calm winter wardrobe: wool knits, corduroy, denim, or plain thermal clothing work just as well as complementary pieces from the Swan collection, e.g., the balaclava made of fluffy-soft fleece.

Why I wholeheartedly recommend it

For a good winter jacket, for me, what it can truly do outdoors comes first. And then, whether I still like to look at it. The Mismou achieves both.

10,000 mm water column, taped seams, snow skirt, and warm, light insulation make it a jacket that can handle demanding winter weather. At the same time, the nostalgic swan pattern and the ruffled peplum ensure that it doesn't look like standard functional outdoor gear.

I find the internal suspenders particularly practical. A small detail that genuinely makes a difference in everyday skiing, when the jacket needs to be taken off temporarily while ice skating, on the lift, or in the hut.

Thermal performance

According to the manufacturer, the jacket keeps you warm during static activity for up to 8 hours at temperatures down to -11 °C. For moderate activity, such as skiing or running, it is specified for temperatures up to -48 °C.

As always with such temperature specifications, the actual thermal performance depends on activity, wind, humidity, and the clothing worn underneath.

The jacket is insulated with THERMOLITE® EcoMade. The material was developed to provide warmth and insulation with a comparatively low weight.
